Grasp Hand Therapy is a Private Practice situated in Durbanville, Cape Town. The practice was founded by Vedanette Potgieter in response to a need for quality rehabilitative and preventative upper limb orthopaedic care. Now co-owned by two driven and compassionate Occupational therapists who have dedicated their enthusiasm and passion toward health and healing. With 18 years combined experience, Grasp Hand Therapy offers a personalised, professional journey back to health.

Grasp Hand Therapy emphasises collaboration paired with relevant evidence-based practice to overcome challenges caused by either trauma, disease, over-use, wear n tear or congenitally acquired injuries.

Vedanette Potgieter completed her Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2004. With a great passion for the field of Hand Therapy, she took every opportunity to further her knowledge and experience. She spent 10 years working in England where she also completed a post-graduate diploma in Hand Therapy at the University of Derby. She obtained her accreditation as a Hand Therapist through the British Association of Hand Therapist (BAHT). The depth of experience gained has shaped and moulded her to the therapist she is today.

Since her return to South Africa in 2016 she has been an active member of the South African Society of Hand Therapists (SASHT). She has had the privilege to also teach at a SASHT training course in 2019.

Her special interest is the wrist and the thumb; appreciating the limiting effect that such injuries can have on everyday hand function. She welcomes challenges as she has a positive attitude towards problem-solving.

Vedanette continues her international relations and likes to keep up to date with changing evidence and developments in Hand Therapy.

Jessica Vosloo obtained her BSc. in Occupational Therapy at the University of Cape Town. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Hand Therapy from the University of Pretoria. Where ever she goes she thrives by creating a caring and professional milieu that encourages a growing client base.

After completing her community service year in Bloemfontein, Jessica moved to Namibia where her passion for Hand Therapy was inspired. She believes that everyone has the innate potential to find healing through creative problem solving and joined experience. She is attentive to the individual needs of her clients and serves with compassion and energy.

Jessica enjoyed a rich learning experience in Namibia, having the opportunity to work closely with local and international orthopaedic surgeons and other multidisciplinary team members, she continually pursues reliable interdisciplinary coherence in order to deliver a stand-above Hand Therapy service. In August 2019 she returned to her home, South Africa, to continue her passion in her own practice. Jessica joined Grasp Hand Therapy in 2020 as senior partner.

Away from work, she expresses interest in art mediums, jogging and hiking the beautiful surrounds of Cape Town and the Winelands.
